Semifinals in Dallas

The Texas Two Step was a huge success for the debate team.  With two tournaments in one week, the team earned a bunch of wins.

The week began at the University of North Texas.  Matt Coleman and Eric Robinson won the tournament!  They defeated Emory in the finals.  After posting a 5-2 preliminary record, the team stormed through the elim rounds.  They walked over Box and Rinker in the doubles and then defeated UTSA, Central Oklahoma and Texas before meeting Emory in the finals.  Brian Box and Patrick Rinker also qualified for the elimination rounds with a 4-3 record.

Box and Rinker had their best showing of the season at the end of the week at UT-Dallas.  After a 4-3 prelim record, they had upset wins over Kansas (doubles), Texas (octas), and Emory (quarters) before a 2-1 loss to Wake Forest in the semifinals.  Coleman and Robinson posted a 6-1 prelim record, and a win over Minnesota in the doubles, before being upset in the octafinals by Wake Forest.

Franklin Katschke, Adam Courtelyou, Matt Munday, and Creighton Coleman also competed at the tournament, but did not advance to the elim rounds.
